Vivox, the market leader in voice services for online games and virtual worlds, has entered into an agreement with Epic Games to join the company’s Integrated Partners Program (IPP).
As part of the agreement, Vivox’s voice technology will be integrated with Epic’s Unreal Engine 3. Publishers and developers licensing Unreal Engine 3 will now have immediate access to Vivox’s trusted and proven voice service, making voice integration with UE3 powered games quick, simple and cost-effective.
Vivox’s integrated voice chat technology and managed service are being deployed by some of the industry’s leading studios such as CCP Games, NCsoft and Sony Online Entertainment. Through this deal, advanced real-time communication service is now available to publishers and developers as part of the native Unreal Engine toolset for PC and PLAYSTATION®3 platforms. In addition, publishers and developers will have full integration support from the Vivox implementation and operations teams.

“Working with top partners like Vivox and integrating their technologies into Unreal Engine 3 further provides our licensees with the best development tools available,” said Dr. Michael Capps, president of Epic Games. “Their breadth of features, operational excellence and ability to scale has made Vivox a market leader in voice services for games, and we welcome them to the Integrated Partners Program.”
“Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 powers many of the best known games on the market. We’re pleased to contribute to their commitment to innovation, and we’re proud to be part of the high-quality solution they offer,” said Rob Seaver, CEO, Vivox.
