Galactic Hunters Releasing This March

LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment announced today that they will release Galactic Hunters this March, the second expansion to their successful Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game.

Galactic Hunters takes the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game in exciting new directions, for the first time giving both light and dark side players the chance to employ some of the most recognizable and legendary bounty hunters in the galaxy. Players can issue bounties on opponents with the all-new “target” keyword ability and reap the rewards of completed bounties with instant, stat-enhancing bonuses.

Galactic Hunters will introduce exciting new cards to the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game:

  • New Star Wars Bounty Hunter Character Cards – Players can add a host of powerful iconic bounty hunters to their virtual decks, including Boba Fett, IG-88, Dengar, Zuckuss, and 4-LOM.

  • New Loot Cards – More than 20 new bounty hunter inspired loot cards will be available, including the Armored Bantha Mount, the Zam Wesell Airspeeder and the first ever loot collection reward, the exclusive Merr-Sonn JT-12 jetpack.

In addition, Galactic Hunters will add more than 180 new playable cards, each with original Star Wars®-themed artwork, to the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game.

New gameplay will include:

  • Ten scenario bounty hunter-themed quest-arcs split into light and dark side objectives, each with unique epic bounty hunter unit quest rewards.
  • In addition to “target,” new keyword abilities “shield” and “sentry,” plus a variety of mid-game bonus kickers.

Available to both current and former Star Wars Galaxies subscribers (trial details here), the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game provides players an entirely new gameplay experience by combining the challenge of a trading card game with the adventures and community of the massively multiplayer game.  Players can build their own virtual decks to fight in the story mode, epic one-on-one matches, cooperative Heroic Encounters, and official tournaments.

In addition, all Star Wars Galaxies subscribers with current, valid, paid accounts in good standing are eligible to automatically receive five digital trading card Booster Packs each month included with their paid Star Wars Galaxies subscription at no additional cost, providing a simple way to quickly and easily build their decks.
