PS3 Red Alert 3 This March?

Last week we reported on the fact that an ‘Ultimate Edition’ of Red Alert 3 was seen as a listing on the EA store, but was removed soon after.

It was classed as a rumour and has died down because of the lack of news on the game, but today some new images were uploaded to Sony’s Playstation site, and when I saw ‘Red Alert™ 3 Ultimate Edition’ in the title I had to have a look.

Update;

Looks like I was right, EA have confirmed RA3 for the PS3 this March, read the press release here.

It seems that Sony have a listing for the game, the description given is as follows;

The beloved Command & Conquer Franchise makes its debut on the PLAYSTATION®3 in the Red Alert™ 3: Ultimate Edition! Go back in time and battle alongside your friends and Hollywood stars in an action-packed, over-the-top world in the first-ever full RTS with co-op campaign. Includes over one hour of HD footage starring the biggest live-action cast ever in a video game. Now enhanced for the PS3™ with bonus footage and exclusive content not found anywhere else!

It also has the Genre as Action, Publisher as Electronic Arts, Release Date as March 2009, and can be played with 1-4 players similar to the 360 version.

You can check the page out here, but just in the case it is removed (won’t be the first time) I have also uploaded a screenshot below, my PSN was removed from the image.

Now, I am aware this is only a listing on the PlayStation site, so until Sony release an official press release on the subject, I am filing this under ‘Rumour’, so take the article with a pinch of salt.

The development of the game was only officially on ‘hold’ though, so I don’t see why we woudln’t see Red Alert 3 on the console.

Personally a pretty big fan of the C&C series, I would only consider buying this again (have it on the PC) if it is released with decent keyboard and mouse support.
