Uncover the murky history of Skira island and the territorial and mineral wealth dispute that threatens to spiral into all-out war as Codemasters has revealed the intro video for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, the shooter that’s set to take gamers as close to war as they’ll ever want to get.

Located north of Japan, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising’s 220km battlefield is a place mired in historical disputes stretching back centuries.

Claimed by China in the 15th century, the isolated island has also been under Japanese and Russian rule, with the latter currently holding sovereignty.

In the very near future, the global economic crisis will result in Skira becoming a flashpoint between superpowers that threatens to erupt into full-scale war.
