Sony Recruiting Beta Testers Again?

We received quite an interesting image from what we consider a reliable source this morning, SCEE are apparently recruiting new members into the European PlayStation Beta Trials. However, as nothing has been confirmed by Sony Computer Entertainment themselves we are posting it under ‘Rumours’ for now, we will keep the post updated with any latest developments as they come through. BFBC 2 Features ‘Announced’

Electronic Arts has quite amusingly ‘announced’ the features for the upcoming game Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Do not take any of the below seriously, it is clearly an April Fools joke by EA, most people will realise but you never know. Although I sort of was looking forward to hearing the Terminator spotting enemies and calling for a medic Battlefield Bad Company 2 will be a multiplatform release, this means that it will be available for PC, LINUX (Red Hat Edition), Ubuntu, Apple Macintosh, PS3, Xbox360, PS2, PSP, Mobile Phone, iPhone, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo DS. The release...

Firmware 2.70 Coming This Month?

In a (skeptical) previous post we detailed the full 2.70 rumor business that a user of the Gametrailers forums claimed to be true. It seems that more information about this supposed update has surfaced… but not from the same source, leading me to “eat my virtual words” – or so to say. On the official Psyonix forums, the developers of the long-winded PSN title “Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered-Battle-Cars” (or SARPBC for short) a developer was discussing a bug in the game when he said something very interesting. He stated that “Sony mentioned a bug...

Dodgy Rumor Central: Firmware 2.7

Over at the ever brimming Gametrailers forums, a user named Neobara has “kindly” posted some “details” about Sony’s “supposed” (you can tell I’m skeptical by now, right?) 2.7 firmware update. The list details some much requested features such as cross-game chat and a smoother in-game XMB. The user claims he has an inside source at Sony who is giving him the info. In most circumstances you should take these claims with a pinch of salt. Many a rumor spreads the interwebs by one simple forum post of a murky origin. Frankly, I don’t believe it....

Dead Rising 2 Multiplatform?

A recent rumour has been spreading the web recently. The sequel to the well-known Dead Rising won’t be a Xbox exclusive, this is great for Ps3 only owners. But is it all good news? It’ll be time to whip out the chainsaw and get a few thousand zombies chopped down, again and bring it to some new gamers. CVG asked someone from Capcom UK, this was their reply: “Dead Rising was a huge success for us and is obviously the kind of game we’d like to continue to make.” But since they haven’t announced it yet this will stay as a rumour. “At the moment we have made...

PS3 Red Alert 3 This March?

Last week we reported on the fact that an ‘Ultimate Edition’ of Red Alert 3 was seen as a listing on the EA store, but was removed soon after. It was classed as a rumour and has died down because of the lack of news on the game, but today some new images were uploaded to Sony’s Playstation site, and when I saw ‘Red Alert™ 3 Ultimate Edition’ in the title I had to have a look. Update; Looks like I was right, EA have confirmed RA3 for the PS3 this March, read the press release here. It seems that Sony have a listing for the game, the description given is as follows; The...

Next GTA Before End ‘09?

According to Loose Talk in the latest Game Informer, RockStar North is already working on the next instalment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, which should be ready for release this holiday season. We’re not talking about new DLC or a collection of previously available DLC, we’re talking about a full retail game. We expect this title to follow the suit of previous GTAs and use a subtitle such as GTA: San Andreas, etc. Tokyo might be a possible setting for the game, but details are non-existent at this time. – Game Informer Issue 190 It wouldn’t be surprising for RockStar...

A few months ago, developers of the latest Command & Conquer game, revealed that the delayed PS3 version of the game would feature “really cool things” that take advantage of the “high-defness of Blu-Ray.” Well, a listing on the EA Store reveals what those things will be. Now dubbed the Ultimate Edition, the PS3 version will include a ton of new videos on the disc not found in previous versions. Find bloopers, behind the scenes, and developer strategy videos. There will also be brand new battleground maps. You’ll be able to access the soundtrack from the game,...
